THE HUB / OUR PLANS

Bring an idea.
Find your people.

A dedicated place for practical learning, product development and the next step in your working life.

PLANNED FACILITIES

A starting point.
And room to grow.

Our starting plan is for 10 computer workstations, alongside desks, books and shared space in Barkingside. We want the tools to support your curiosity — whether you’re writing your first prompt or turning a prototype into a useful product.

Premises, equipment choices and the final programme are still being arranged.

WHAT WE PLAN TO OFFER

Tools. Knowledge. Momentum.

01 / SPACE

Somewhere to focus

A welcoming study and project space with desks, seating, books and a community of people who want to learn and make things.

02 / TECHNOLOGY

Computers & AI access

Free use of computers, with planned access to compute, frontier and open-source AI tools. Available services and usage arrangements will be confirmed before opening.

03 / WORKSHOPS

Practical AI & coding

Hands-on sessions on prompting, AI-assisted coding and building software. Learn by working through real projects and useful problems.

04 / GUIDANCE

Mentoring & project help

Support to develop an idea, work through a technical challenge, improve a project and explore next steps in a career.

05 / NEW PERSPECTIVES

Talks that open up possibilities

We plan to invite engineers, researchers and other experts to discuss emerging fields — from AI to nuclear fusion — and the skills, jobs and business opportunities around them.

06 / ENTREPRENEURSHIP

From a product to a proposition

Planned founder and venture capital talks, pitch-deck reviews and practical feedback on ideas, business models and fundraising. A chance to learn how products reach the world.

BEFORE WE OPEN

A few things
you might be wondering.

We’re at the planning and fundraising stage. Here’s what we know so far.

Is the hub open yet?+

Not yet. We’ll announce an opening date once funding, premises, staffing, equipment and operating arrangements are in place.

Who will it be for?+

Anyone aged 18+ is welcome, whatever your background or experience. You won’t need to be a student, an experienced coder or someone starting a business. Come to learn, work on a project or meet people with shared interests.

Will it really be free?+

Yes. Our plan is for workshops, mentoring, computer use and workspace access to be free, with no required membership fee, purchase or donation.

Where will it be?+

We’re looking to establish the hub in Barkingside, in the London Borough of Redbridge. A venue has not yet been confirmed.

Will it be open 24 hours?+

That’s the ambition: a space people can use when they’re ready to work, including outside conventional hours. We plan for staff or volunteers to be present throughout. Access arrangements will depend on funding, staffing and safety preparations.

Will there be online sessions?+

We plan to stream talks and learning sessions online too. The format and programme will be announced as the plans develop.
